Le week-end dernier, j’ai eu l’occasion d’assister à un concert vraiment étonnant, celui d’Emilie Autumn. Déjà, c’était un groupe de 4 filles magnifiques (ce qui n’est pas commun), qui font du rock dans un univers girly, industriel et déjanté. Ça m’a rappelé Tim Burton mais décalé.
Ce concert se tenait à la Maroquinerie, sur les hauteurs de Belleville, là où habituellement je travaille. Belle surprise que cette salle, qui malgré sa petitesse, s’avère conviviale. Il fallait juste ne pas avoir peur d’étouffer parmi les fans tous entassés contre de la scène ! Petite salle dit proximité rapprochée des artistes avec leur public et aucun espace réservé aux photographes : tous dans la fosse et gros plans assurés… Après un petit moment, je me suis donc retirée pour être plus à l’aise sur l’un des cotés de scène, vers la porte de sortie.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a truly amazing concert : the one of Emilie Autumn. First of all, it was a band of 4 beautiful girls (which is not common), who play rock in a girly, industrial and crazy universe. It reminded me of Tim Burton but in a shifted way.
This concert was held in La Maroquinerie, on the heights of Belleville, where I usually work. Nice surprise of this room, which is friendly despite its small size. You just have not to be afraid to suffocate among fans all crammed against the stage! Small room means proximity of the artists with their audience and no space for photographers : all together and all close-ups for sure … After a while, I decided to move backward to be more comfortable on one side of the stage, towards the exit door.
